Names of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ( ) – An Analytical Study

Abstract

By keeping in view the dignity and importance of the Finality of Prophethood, Islam respect the personality of the Holy Prophet as well as various names of the Holy Prophet such as Ahmad and introduced naming system by which various names of the Holy Prophet remained alive through generation to generation. This is the reason that Islam encourages to child name Ahmad. Apparently in the Holy Quran Surah Al-Saff 61:6 the name of the Holy Prophet Ahmad regarded as proper name of the Holy Prophet Muhammd (). But unfortunalely it is the misunderstood phenomenon about the verse of the Holy Quran and is still remains in Orientalists writtings which is actually the result of miscomprehension of some Orientalists.
